Freedom and Interdependence: A Dances of Universal Peace Retreat
Facilitated by Robin Schnitzler and Michael Hopwood
As we come together over the 4th of July weekend, this retreat opens a deeper inquiry into freedom – not simply as independence, but as interdependence. Through the shared practice of the Dances of Universal Peace, we enter a living field of connection, where breath, movement, and voice awaken our belonging to one another and to the greater whole.
In this communal space, we honor both the longing for freedom and the recognition that our lives are woven together. We explore what freedom – and liberation – mean in our own lives, and how they are inseparable from the unfolding of peace.
With simple dances, sacred phrases drawn from many of the world’s traditions, and time immersed in the natural beauty of the Christine Center – including an evening fire – we move, breathe, and raise our voices together. In doing so, we embody unity, celebrate diversity, and remember the deep belonging that holds us all.
A Saturday evening sound bath will further enrich the weekend, offering a spacious and restorative immersion to nourish body, heart, and spirit.
