Joyful Journey

Special Features: Soaking in well-maintained hot springs pools, breakfasts, and dinners included with lodging onsite. Bernie Heideman and Sky Roshay are the main leaders and we invite other leaders into the center throughout the camp. Other features: Usually a talented musicians’ circle; sometimes kirtan, tai chi, a clothing exchange, and bazaar, depending on who comes. This is an easy retreat, full of energy and depth, and the location – right below the Sangre de Cristo mountains – is gorgeous.

Location: Joyful Journey Hot Springs, San Luis Valley, CO

Nearest Airports: Alamosa, CO; or Denver if you can drive a few hours

Time of Year: The closest weekend (Thurs-Sunday) to March 12 that’s possible (that’s Bernie and Sky’s shared birthday)

Weather: Cold, and it can snow; but we’re inside for all group gatherings.

Who Attends: People from our inter-mountain west community (Montana through Colorado, Arizona, NM and Utah) as well as the Midwest and sometimes people from further away.

Accommodations: Lodging (rooms, yurts) onsite, onsite camping, and RV spaces with electricity available. Motels and b’n’bs within easy commuting distance.

Special Considerations: Soaking passes, dinner and breakfast included in onsite lodging. Wi-fi at the site. Lunches are on your own. People staying offsite can also reserve dinners, and buy soaking passes for the hot springs.
