We invite dancers\, leaders and musicians to deepen their practice and attunement to the dances in the natural beauty and sweet spirit of this oceanfront town.  Instruction will be provided in both Spanish and English. This is our 28th year in the evolution of the original Canyonlands camp. Please join us\, for Dances\, music\, shared meals\, a beautiful setting with hot tub and mountain views\, hugs and laughter\, and deep prayers. We’ll also celebrate the life of beloved Adrianna Heideman through poetry\, ritual and sharing. \nThe venue includes a few available rooms in the house (shared occupancy)\, several buses and other indoor sleeping venues (no electricity)\, one available RV spot and one stationary RV (shared occupancy) with electricity\, several beautiful walk-in campsites\, and room for car camping. The buses are dog friendly; other lodging is not. Offsite stays are also possible\, with some nice air bnbs and motels nearby.

SUMMARY:Freedom and Interdependence: A Dances of Universal Peace Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Facilitated by Robin Schnitzler and Michael Hopwood \n\n\n\n\nAs we come together over the 4th of July weekend\, this retreat opens a deeper inquiry into freedom – not simply as independence\, but as interdependence. Through the shared practice of the Dances of Universal Peace\, we enter a living field of connection\, where breath\, movement\, and voice awaken our belonging to one another and to the greater whole. \nIn this communal space\, we honor both the longing for freedom and the recognition that our lives are woven together. We explore what freedom – and liberation – mean in our own lives\, and how they are inseparable from the unfolding of peace. \nWith simple dances\, sacred phrases drawn from many of the world’s traditions\, and time immersed in the natural beauty of the Christine Center – including an evening fire – we move\, breathe\, and raise our voices together. In doing so\, we embody unity\, celebrate diversity\, and remember the deep belonging that holds us all. \nA Saturday evening sound bath will further enrich the weekend\, offering a spacious and restorative immersion to nourish body\, heart\, and spirit.
