DESCRIPTION:With Dance leaders Bernie Heideman\, Sky Roshay and Jennifer Friedman and Friends at Sage View Ranch outside Paonia CO\, May 13-18 (Wednesday til Monday). This is our 28th year in the evolution of the original Canyonlands camp. Please join us\, for Dances\, music\, shared meals\, a beautiful setting with hot tub and mountain views\, hugs and laughter\, and deep prayers. We’ll also celebrate the life of beloved Adrianna Heideman through poetry\, ritual and sharing. \nThe venue includes a few available rooms in the house (shared occupancy)\, several buses and other indoor sleeping venues (no electricity)\, one available RV spot and one stationary RV (shared occupancy) with electricity\, several beautiful walk-in campsites\, and room for car camping. The buses are dog friendly; other lodging is not. Offsite stays are also possible\, with some nice air bnbs and motels nearby.

Each person (you included) is what creates this magic. Humans evolved singing and celebrating in circle dance. As soon as you step into the circle you’ll know you are home. \nWhat’s it Like? Dancing with us is like joining a tribe. When we first come together we often don’t know each other’s names but become immediate brothers and sisters. The music brings us together. The camp is held by elder wisdom with experienced leaders who have been doing this for over thirty years. This will be an excellent experience for dance leaders. \n“Our Nature Is to Love\, So Love WILDLY!”\nThis is the theme we have chosen to help inspire and shape our planning as we move towards camp. Be prepared for an exciting week\, filled with dancing\, singing\, playing\, praying\, sharing\, eating\, learning\, and loving\, and be prepared to get a little bit (or a lot) WILD with all of it! \nDance Leader Bios\nThe planning team is excited about the Dance Leaders we have invited to be with us at camp this year. Grace D Marie\, who is based in Colorado\, and Yarrow Nelson\, who is based in California\, will each be bringing high quality and inspiring Dances to enliven our hearts and get our bodies moving. Here is a bit about each of them. \n\nGrace D Marie was born in the US to immigrant Polish parents. The picnics in the forest\, parks\, picking mushrooms after a rainstorm\, visiting farms\, singing in a choir from childhood\, in addition to Polish weddings once a month with music and dance\, were a beautiful life foundation. She has a degree in Forest and Natural Resources Management\, and has worked for the Forest Service in Alaska and Colorado. \nGrace’s love of the natural world led her to learn how to read\, hear\, and decipher the sounds of nature\, the beings of nature\, seen and unseen\, with elder teachers. This combination of music\, dance\, and natural sciences formed the foundation of Grace’s focus on the body in movement therapy to exercise the relationship with our inner and outer world. She has shared her focus of peace through movement and dance with many communities worldwide through Dances of Universal Peace. \n\nYarrow Nelson has been a long-time leader of the Dances of Universal Peace in the Ithaca\, NY and San Luis Obispo\, CA areas. He runs the Dancing Hearts Dance Leader Training camp in the San Luis Obispo area every spring\, where new Dance leaders have been unfolding for the past 20 years. \nYarrow’s spiritual path is closely tied to his love for Nature\, and he is now helping to lead the Ziraat concentration\, which invites us to connect with Nature through the wisdom of Hazrat Inayat Khan. Our youth programs help create that foundation through arts\, crafts\, games\, sports\, community\, and mysticism — and teens may attend adult classes if they wish. Our devoted and fun-loving staff provides plenty of energy\, enthusiasm\, guidance\, and joy to your young beloveds in a beautiful meadow\, surrounded by redwoods! \nCamp Environment\nMendocino Woodlands State Park\, about thirty minutes inland from the beautiful northern California coast\, is a natural wonderland nestled in a 700-acre temple of redwood trees\, ferns\, glades\, and meadows alongside a gentle (in summer!) river. Its rustic cabins and lodges were built during the Great Depression\, and are protected as a National Historic Landmark. \nOther  Opportunities at Camp\nOur Healing Temple allows campers to partake of nurturing therapeutic massage & other healing\nmodalities at a reduced cost. SUMMARY:Lava Hot Springs Dance Camp
DESCRIPTION:Come celebrate harmony and movement with the Dances of Universal Peace in Lava Hot Springs\, Idaho. This year we are coming back to this lovely town full of hot springs and a blossoming spiritual community in southern Idaho. Our dance event is in July when camping is great. We’ll be dancing in our thirty foot tent on our new dance pad up in the cool trees at Kim’s cabin. Lots of camping spots are available on the property\, and the town is full of great small motels for those who like a comfy bed. Come enjoy community in song and music for four days. \nStill only $50 per person for 2025! \nAbout the Dance\nThe Dances of Universal Peace are a powerful practice to find our true joyous being in community. These simple dances are inspired by the many spiritual traditions of the world. No experience or partner needed! Each dance and song is simple and taught as we go. \nThis type of dance is magic because it can’t be done without you! Finally a practice that doesn’t have you as a spectator! You will be right in the circle with a group of loving humans creating music while we move. \nIn the Dances of Universal Peace you are the music. We all sing and move together and that’s what creates the magic. Nothing else is needed. \nSetup is on Wednesday with take down Sunday morning. \nPartial Attendance? \nYou are welcome to attend partial days. Donations accepted at camp… or just come try it out. \nDetails \nWe’ll be at the campsite early on Wednesday for setting up. People are welcome to come get a camp spot and settled in early. First dance session is Thursday evening. Our musical instruments will be out and of course we’ll jam Wednesday and Thursday morning in the tent. If lots of people are there we will definitely kick up our heels. Last dance is on Sunday morning. \nOur dance spot is located just outside the city limits of Lava Hot Springs. Up in the cool trees and yet close to hot springs. We have a map and detailed directions below. The cabin is a ten minute drive from camping or motels in town. \nCamping will be free at the tent site. For those who like comfort and being close to hot pools there are plenty of hotels in town. There is also a RV resort just down the road from the tent spot. Google for Trout Haven in Lava. \nMusicians \nAs you arrive at camp please let us know about your musicianship! We coordinate experienced leaders into our dance sessions\, often on the fly. We’ll also have a dance/music/kirtan jam in the afternoons.
