DESCRIPTION:Facilitated by Robin Schnitzler and Michael Hopwood  \nJoin us for a gentle retreat of Dances of Universal Peace\, with an evening and morning of shared practice in song and movement. Rooted in sacred phrases and teachings from the world’s wisdom traditions\, the dances invite us to settle into presence\, open the heart\, and experience connection with ourselves and one another. \nNo previous experience is needed. \nProgram highlights: \n\n\n\nEvening and morning sessions of Dances of Universal Peace\nA retreat atmosphere of shared practice\, reflection\, and presence\nLive music\, simple movements\, and sacred phrases from the world’s wisdom traditions\nOpen to both newcomers and those familiar with the dances\nAfternoon conversation about establishing and being part of a DUP community at the Christine Center\n\n\n\nThis retreat offers time to enter the practice together and to experience the depth that can grow through returning to the circle over more than one session. The gathering will conclude with an afternoon meeting and conversation about establishing and participating in a Dances of Universal Peace community at the Christine Center. It is an invitation not only to experience the dances\, but also to help imagine what it would mean to nurture an ongoing circle of shared spiritual practice here.

SUMMARY:Hummingbird Dance & Wasifa Retreat
DESCRIPTION:HAVEN OF BELONGING \nA Hummingbird Residential Dance & Wasifa Retreat with Tara Andrea\, Maboud and special friends \n\nWe gather to remember and celebrate that: \nWe belong to the earth that nurtures and grows our bodies. \nWe belong to the waters that flow through our hearts and veins. \nWe belong to the fire that sparks in the synapses of brains. \nWe belong to the air which enlivens the breath that we are. \nWe belong to the unseen divine spirit that weaves us into the fabric of unity. \n\n\nAnd yet\, as human beings we may feel isolated\, lonely and abandoned\, often having a sense that we don’t belong in this world. \nTogether\, we welcome our longing to simply be present and real with one another in an atmosphere of nurturance\, gentleness and loving kindness.  We will explore what arises from within and follow the inspiration that guides us to say yes to who we are as full unique beings that become intimately connected to the flower of sacred belonging. \n\n\nThe Beautiful Names within the Sufi pathway provide an ecology of contemplation and discovery of our human self and divine soul that enables us to cultivate a responsible relationship with the world and the reality of the Haven of Belonging. \nTara Andrea and Maboud will guide us in this endeavor through the wasifa-inspired body prayers\, and embodiment-centered meditations. There will be contemplative time in nature\, and sharing our individual journey in a circle of belonging.
